Cornerstone Christian finished the 2015 season with a disappointing 2-8 record. With their 1-3 region record and a fourth place finish in Class A region two, the Chargers earned a spot in the playoffs in 2015. Cornerstone Christian's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to South Choctaw Academy by a score of 20-13. The Chargers open the 2016 season on the road against non-region opponent Bessemer Academy on Thursday, August 25 at Rebels Field. Last year the Bessemer Academy Rebels finished with an overall record of 13-0 and in first place in Class AAA region two. The Rebels won the Class AAA State Championship last season when they defeated Monroe Academy by a score of 34-6 in Troy. Cornerstone Christian and Bessemer Academy have met a total of 5 times on the football field. The Chargers have a 0-5-0 record against the Rebels.
